Adult CPR and AED

The Adult CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims about 12 years and older. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult CPR/AED valid for two years.

Adult and Pediatric CPR and AED

The Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age – adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED valid for two years.

Adult and Pediatric First Aid / CPR /AED

The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age – adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.

First AID CPR AED Instructor

This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED courses. To participate in this course, you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration, it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blended learning course consisting of online content, a pre-course skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. For more information, please reference the attachment you will receive via e-mail when you register for this course.

Babysitters Training

To provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. The recommended age for this course is 11-15 years old. Babysitter’s Training students should arrive to class on time with a bagged lunch & drink. Some classes are offered with lunch included (Chic Filet). Parents are required to sign in students and leave an emergency contact number.

Lifeguarding

At the American Red Cross, lifeguarding and water safety courses are available year-round from trained professionals who can help you gain the skills and confidence necessary for providing care and instruction when it’s needed most. Courses available include lifeguarding, aquatic instructor training, safety training for swim coaches, and more.

Wilderness First Aid

Designed for scouts and scout leaders, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments, this course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away. Based on the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, this course aligns with OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs.

Athens CPR & Safety is accepting current Red Cross Instructors to join our Strategic Training Partner network!

If you would like to affiliate with our STP, please review the information and complete the form below and we will start the process. If you have not yet completed your Red Cross Instructor Course by either taking an initial Red Cross Instructor Course or by Bridging from another organization, please complete that step first!

American Red Cross Instructor Get Started Guide

  1. Become a Red Cross Instructor by either attending an Instructor Course or by bridging over from another organization. Visit the Red Cross Website www.redcross.org for information.

    Once you have completed your Red Cross Instructor certification, then:
  2. Get affiliated with an organization.

    To gain access to the instructor view of the Red Cross Learning Center, you must first be affiliated with a training provider that has a signed agreement with the Red Cross to offer training. The provider must submit a request to the Red Cross to affiliate you as an instructor to their provider agreement (add to their list of instructors). This can take 24-48 Hours.

    Note: This does not apply to Red Cross paid or volunteer staff teaching directly for the Red Cross.

    If you teach for multiple organizations, you must be added to each organization’s Training Provider agreement to be able to set up and report classes for that organization.

3. Get access to the Red Cross Learning Center Instructor Portal view.

Once affiliated, login to the Red Cross Learning Center. You should see the Instructor Portal view.

4. Review your profile information

At the top, right of the page, click the drop-down arrow next to your name. Click ‘My Profile.’ Here you can edit your contact information.

Next, click the drop-down arrow next to your name and click ‘My Account.’ Review the information. If any information is incorrect, go to the ‘Questions’ page and use the ‘Click to Chat’ or ‘Submit a Case’ buttons to request the information be corrected.

Review your affiliation(s).
Go to the ‘Resources’ tab on the top navigation bar and click ‘Account Affiliation.’ If there is an account listed in error, click on the account, then ‘Remove Affiliation’ and complete the form. If you should be affiliated with an account that is not listed, contact the Training Provider and ask to be added to their account.

Check your certification(s).
You can view your certifications from the home page and also by clicking on ‘My Certification’ on the top navigation bar. If there is a certification missing, go to the Questions tab and click ‘Click to Chat’ or ‘Create a Support Case’ to get assistance.
